Creating a Coalition for a Healthy Planet

We are building the Coalition based on core insights

Our approach is based on on-the-ground experience and deep insights from coffee farmers and buyers, leading biochar practitioners, agronomist and financing experts.

Insight I

The $ 300 bn coffee value chain is under significant climate pressure - negatively affecting the costs and revenue sides for growers and buyers alike.

Not tomorrow. Today.

Insight II

Biochar has enormous agronomic benefit especially in tropical soils. The effect: Stabilising supply chains for coffee farms and buyers.

The high surface area acts like nature’s sponge, enabling the absorption and slow release of nutrients and water.

Scientifically proven.

—> Decrease in input costs

—> Improved water retention

—> Potential increase in yield

Insight III

Carbon sequestered through biochar unlocks substantial & tangible financial value.

Up to 2.500 USD per hectare annually on the carbon markets.

Insight IV

The majority of coffee farms can not access the benefits of biochar

The Carbon market to monetize carbon credits (insetting, offsetting) is complex and requires specialist knowledge.

Farms can’t access financing. Local banks have no experience with biochar, and too small for specialised carbon market financing.

Agronomic insights & learnings are created for each project and not shared.

Coalition’s model is designed for scale and impact

Biochar as-a-Service without CAPEX for farms.

Empowering farms to unlock the full agronomic and carbon value of their biomass.

Let’s talk
